STUDIENKOLLEG ETALL, a preparatory school for students heading to Germany

ETALL stands for Étudier et Travailler en Allemagne — to study and work in Germany. Everything the school does — the German courses, the ECL exam, the preparation of departure files — is contained in those few words.

Who we are

STUDIENKOLLEG ETALL is a preparatory school for higher education and paid vocational training in Germany. Our mission is a simple one: to prepare you here, in Cameroon, so that you succeed there, in Germany.

Our story

Why ETALL exists

It began with an observation and a certain unease. Dr Baudouin TAMEZE noticed that there were too few Cameroonians in Germany — and that those who did get there often arrived isolated, poorly organised and poorly represented.

The paradox is plain. Germany offers university studies and vocational training that is paid from the very first month; and yet, in Cameroon, leaving remains wrapped in mystery. People hear stories, but do not know who to turn to, which papers to gather, or where to begin. Many families give up — not for want of means or of will, but for want of reliable information.

It was to lift that mystery that he founded ETALL in 2013. The principle fits in a sentence: examine each situation one by one — the qualifications, the level of language, the family's means, the trade in view — and then point to the route that genuinely suits that particular person. For there are two of them, and they share neither the same conditions, nor the same timescales, nor the same budget: university studies, or vocational training within a company.

In that very first year, more than 200 Cameroonians left for paid vocational training. Paid: that is the word that changes everything. A wage every month throughout the training, and therefore the means to live over there without depending on anyone.

From four towns to eleven countries

In its early days, ETALL fitted into four towns in Cameroon. Today the school has 15 centres across the country — in the Centre, Littoral, West, East and North regions — and works in eleven African countries, among them Togo and Burkina Faso.

This spread is not a shop-window argument. It means there is a centre within reasonable reach of your home, where Cameroonian paperwork is understood, where somebody can go through your file with you, and where you can come back when something gets stuck. A visa file is rarely settled over the telephone.

Since 2013, more than 2,000 Cameroonians have been studying or working in Germany thanks to ETALL.

A complete path, from the first lesson to departure

At ETALL everything happens under one roof: you learn German from A1 to C1 with a new intake every week, you sit the international ECL exam — recognised by the Germans, written and marked in Europe — in our own examination centre, and then our dedicated team builds your file and walks you step by step through your departure procedure, for university studies as much as for vocational training, right up to the visa.

A demanding school

Our strength is rigour: regular assessment across the five language skills, strict discipline in class, and punctuality that is not open to negotiation. That demand prepares our students for the reality of study and work in Germany — and it explains their results.

What we offer

Three trades, in the right order. You learn the language, you have your level certified, and then you prepare to leave. Each stage prepares the next — and each one stands on its own if that is all you need.
